Red Wednesday

November 28, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Red Wednesday is a day to stand in solidarity with those persecuted for their peacefully held religious beliefs.

Persecution against Christians in the world’s worst-affected regions has reached a new peak, the impact of which is only now beginning to be felt in all its horror.

We invite you on Red Wednesday (28 November) to join us in prayer here at St Mary’s Cathedral, Sydney to celebrate a Red Wednesday Mass at 5:30pm. After Mass and as the sun sets the facade of the Cathedral will be lit up in red light to honour and draw attention to all who have been killed or experience oppression or persecution for their faith.

Let’s spread the word and use social media to make #RedWednesday 2018 a campaign that cannot be ignored.

Red Wednesday is an initiative of Aid to the Church in Need a Pontifical Charity that supports Christians wherever they are persecuted or oppressed. To find out more visit: www.redwednesday.org and click on the event page here
