Day of Fasting, Penance and Prayer for Peace- 27th October 2023

Pope Francis has declared that Friday 27th October 2023 will be a day of fasting, penance, and prayer for peace. He also has invited the various other Christian confessions, members of other religions, and all who hold the cause of peace in the world at heart to participate. https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/…/pope-francis…
This will be an opportunity for all those of good will to join with His Holiness in “an hour of prayer in a spirit of penance to implore peace in our time, peace in this world.”
Prayer intentions at St Mary’s Cathedral on 27th October will be devoted to the cause of peace and the support of people caught up in conflict and war.
Proceedings will commence with Vespers at 5.00 pm, prior to 5.30 pm Mass and followed by a Holy Hour. Bishop Richard Umbers will preside. Vespers, Mass & Holy Hour will be livestreamed on our YouTube Channel
