Sunday Free Guided Tours
Free guided tours take place every Sunday at 2pm. Registrations close at 12 noon on Thursday of each week. Confirmations will be sent only after registration is closed for that particular week.
To secure a space please email: [email protected].
When registering, please include the names of all attendees and a contact number. Registrations are capped at 15 people. Walk-ins on the day are at the discretion of the Tour Guide. This tour meets at the cathedral shop internal entrance.
As the Crypt is included in the tour and accessed by stairs, no strollers, prams or walkers are allowed for safety purposes. Children and infants would need to be carried in arms and strollers or prams folded and placed securely at the top of the stairs. Attendees with walkers would need to remain in the Cathedral whilst the group visits the Crypt.
Self-guided Tours
We welcome small self-guided group tours on weekdays. As St Mary’s is an active place of worship, we kindly ask that tours are conducted outside of Mass times, and that visitors maintain a quiet and respectful atmosphere at all times.
Please also ensure appropriate and respectful clothes are worn during your visit.

Virtual Tour
The treasures that tell the story is a series of documentary videos produced by the Friends of St Mary’s Cathedral, which examine the life of the Cathedral today through the lens of various artefacts contained within it. The series of documentaries highlights the contributions from members of the community throughout the Cathedral’s history and how their generosity has added so much to the building.
Donors have come from all walks of life, and have contributed to the Baptistery, the bells, the windows, and many more facets of the monumental building. Members of the community have also contributed to different aspects of the music for which the Cathedral has long been famed. The focus of these videos is to use visual artefacts as the focus for the many stories of St Mary’s Cathedral.
